After School Clubs at Baker

After school clubs are open to all 6th, 7th and 8th grade students, unless specifically noted.  They are either PTA sponsored and coordinated by the PTA and run by PTA members, or school sponsored and run by staff members based on interest and availability.

Most clubs run after school, some select groups meet during the school day. All after school  clubs run on days when there are activity buses that arrive at school at 4:30..  Not all clubs run year round.

More information can be found at the activity fair at Back to School Night held in the media center. Students learn about club opportunities through morning announcements and Paw Prints.

Below is a list of clubs that have been offered in the past. This year is subject to change, availability and interest.

PTA Sponsored

Green Team - Coordinated by two PTA member, Shannon Fleischer and overseen by staff sponsor Mrs. Welch, this group gets students actively recycling and making a difference in Baker while earning SSL hours.  Students are broken into two teams with one adult supervisor per floor where they collect the recycling materials in wheeled bins. With the help of the Green Team Baker was recognized as the top recycling middle school in the county for the 3rd quarter due to increased lunch recycling.

Due to size limitations, this coming fall there will be a weekly sign up to give opportunity to 8 students per week. Students can also sign up to be lunch representatives to help encourage and direct student lunch recycling in the new lunch time procedures.
